Jackson Wang's LMLY - Leave Me Loving You - MV Reaction and Review

Jackson Wang - LMLY
Why am I always late in giving a reaction about things? Well, it’s obviously because I'm busy with a lot of stuff. Nah. Just kidding. Who am I kidding? I don’t even have anything to do in life. Well, that’s another joke.

Anyway, I just want to write something about this new song from my ultimate bias Jackson Wang. Yes, of all the male idols I’ve heard and watched, aside from Yook Sung-Jae of BTOB, of course, Jackson Wang is on my top 5 list. Well, I’m not going to reveal yet who’s the other three male idols I admire because this post is not for that topic, sorry.

So, I watched this new MV of Jackson Wang, LMLY – Leave Me Loving You, a hundred thousand times already. And gosh, you won’t believe it, but every single time I’ve watched it, it still feels like I’ve seen and heard it for the first time. In short, I’m not getting tired of it!

It’s already two days old and currently on its 2.7M views on YouTube as of this writing, and I’m hoping that all his fans out there will help stream the MV more so it will reach more than what it has right now. It deserves more, simple as that!

Jackson is a very talented guy. So creative, and very hands-on with what he wants for his music videos even from the start. (See, I love him so much. Do you think I will give you something negative about this beautiful guy? Of course, I won’t. Just kidding.) Anyway, if you’ll watch his video until the end, you’ll be amazed by how serious he is with his craft. And the way he carefully thought about the concept of the video is just astonishing.

Honestly, what I like about his music is he tells a story with each of them. Remember 100 Ways and Pretty Please? These MVs aren’t only created just for the sake of having a music video, he made it as if it’s a movie and he even confirmed that in the behind the scene video. Aside from that, he also mentioned that he adopted the MV of Pretty Please and Leave Me Loving You with Hong Kong’s 90s movies. Well, there’s no doubt about it since the setting, clothes, and the vibes of both music videos somewhat have a resemblance to 90s movies, right? The thing is, even if these two songs sound so retro and will make you fly back to your mom and dad’s era, it’s still like a fresh air to breathe in. Though there are already lots of songs nowadays that have a retrospective sound, this one has its unique chilly vibe in it, right? Besides, it’s written in English, which is a plus.

The difference between Pretty Please and LMLY is, Pretty Please looks like a musical show while the LMLY is like a Chinese Mafia Movie where a poor boy falls in love with a gang’s wife. Well, that’s just how I see it though. And aside from that, Pretty Please has a happy ending, while the latter isn’t. The girl on the latest video is already married, so even if he becomes as rich as the girl’s husband, nothing will still happen. End of story.

Jackson Wang - Leave Me Loving You

What makes it even more interesting is, I was tricked at the beginning of the video, thinking that both of them have understanding. Then at the end, you will see that Jackson was just being delusional about his relationship with the girl, which is kind of sad, right?

So, what do you think about this new song? Do you think you’ll also listen to it a hundred thousand times, just like I did? I’m too biased, am I?
