**Chaeng was staring at her ceiling, thinking how to break the news to Mina. Should she tell everything to her? The thing is, she couldn’t even remember anything, so what exactly should she tell her?**
Chaeng: What if?
**She whispered.**
Chaeng: What if she gets mad?
Chaeng: Shit, Chaeyoung! What have you done? Now I hate your free-spirited attitude!
**She held her phone tighter on her side.**
Chaeng: I can do this. I know she’ll forgive me. She loves me, right?
**She pushed herself up and stared at Mina’s number.**
Chaeng: Come on Chaeng, there’s no other way to do this. You need to tell her now, or you’ll have bigger regrets sooner.
**She’s trying her best to convince herself ‘cause in reality, she’s afraid of whatever reaction Mina will give her.**
**It rang once. Then twice. And Mina only answered it after the third time.**
**Chaeng gulped. She could feel her throat getting dry.**
Mina: Babe?
**She whispered.**
Chaeng: Ooh! Sorry! Are you sleeping already?
**Then she heard sheets rubbing each other. Mina might have shifted her position.**
Mina: It’s fine. I’m actually waiting for your call. Have you talked to her already?
**Chaeng’s pulse raised again. Shit! She almost muttered.**
Chaeng: Ye—yeah!
**She stuttered.**
Mina: So, how was it? Why did she do that to us?
Chaeng: Hmm...
**She paused. Shit, Chaeyoung! Say it and be honest to her! That it’s all your fault. She nagged at herself.**
Chaeng: She said she has no intention of sending the video to anyone except to your parents and our agency.
Mina: But why would she do that? Why send something that will ruin us? What’s her problem?
**Mina’s voice raised, which made Chaeng gasped for more air.**
Chaeng: Well...
**She cleared her throat before she continued.**
Chaeng: She has no plan of ruining us.
Mina: No plans? But what are these?
**She snorted.**
**Couldn’t believe the things she’s hearing from Chaeng. Is she on her side now? She thought.**
Chaeng: She just wanted to give a message... to me.
Mina: To you? What message?
Chaeng: ‘Cause she thought she and I had a thing before. You know...
Mina: I don’t know.
**She interjected.**
**Her blood suddenly went up to her head. What did she just say?**
Chaeng: I mean... let me explain it.
Mina: You better be. Go!
**Her tone became firm, and Chaeng shivered with the sound of it.**
Chaeng: Uhm... we just talked for several months. That was before we, you know... had a thing.
**Shit! Do I sound so defensive now?**
**She heard nothing on the other line, so she tried to continue what she was saying, though she doesn’t really have an idea on how to say it.**
Chaeng: And then we went out several times, too. But that was just it. We didn’t have a thing. We...
Mina: How many girls did you talk to before, Chaeyoung? I thought it was only Somi. I never thought you had Rose, too. And tell me the truth, was it only just a talk?
**Mina’s voice was almost inaudible. She’s suppressing her anger. There’s something in Chaeng’s story that she omitted, and she knows that. She could feel it.**
Mina: I don’t think she’ll do what she did if it’s just a talk. I’m not stupid.
Chaeng: Mina... I actually didn’t know what happened.
**Chaeng finally blurted out. There’s no point in hiding it anymore. Mina’s right. She’s not stupid. Whether or not she hides it, Mina will still feel it.**
Chaeng: I mean...
**She took a deep breath.**
Chaeng: I mean... I’m too drank that night. I’m not sure if something happened or what. I really remember nothing.
**Then the line suddenly got cut. Mina hung up. She doesn’t want to hear anything anymore, and she doesn’t want to imagine that her girlfriend is doing it to another girl.**
Chaeng: Oh shit!
**She almost threw her phone on the floor. But stopped herself and just dialed Mina’s number again.**
Chaeng: Come on Mina! Answer it! We need to talk. You need to hear it from me first! Please Mina, answer it!
**But no matter how much she waited for Mina to pick up the phone, it didn’t come. It only rang endlessly.**
*****
**Mina’s still sulking and her mom was staring at her while she picks up her shredded cabbage.**
Mina’s Mom: Cheer up, honey! It’s not yet the end of the world. You’ll come back to Korea sooner. We just need to know who did it.
Mina: I don’t want to go back, mom.
**She said casually, and her sudden revelation instantly surprised everyone.**
Hiro: What do you mean you don’t want to go back?
**Mina shrugged as if she no longer feel anything. But her eyes say otherwise.**
Mina: I’ll stay here indefinitely. I’m not in the mood to see everyone at the dorm right now.
Hiro: What’s going on?
**He’s so confused about his sister’s words.**
**Earlier today, she’s so eager to go back to Korea to see her lover. But now her emotion was flipped on the other side and everyone is clueless about it.**
Mina: I just...
**She paused while her chopsticks were still raking the grilled meat on the platter.**
Mina: I just found out who did it.
Mina’s Dad: Who?
Mina: Just someone I know, dad.
Mina’s Mom: Who, honey? We need to know who that person is so we could file a formal complaint about it.
Mina: No need, mom.
**Although her mom was showing too much emotion, Mina’s feelings are still below the scale.**
Mina’s Dad: This thing isn’t a joke, honey. We need to file a complaint to those people or they’ll do it again.
Mina: I don’t think so, dad. I can handle this. We don’t need to file anything to her. She’s just...
**She stopped in the middle of her sentence. She’s just what Mina? Jealous? Jealous about what’s between you and Chaeng? Or is it more of revenge? Whatever it is, I no longer care. I don’t want to see both of them. She thought.**
Mina: She’s just not happy between me and Chaeng. She only wants to ruin what we have.
**Hiro finally gets it. He now gets why his sister’s mood changed. She’s mad about what’s going on. It’s not that she wanted to escape for a while.**
Hiro: Did she win it now?
**He knows it will create questions in Mina’s head. But she needs to learn from this and sort things out. That’s what he wants Mina to do, and not abandon everything she has in Korea—her career, and her lover.**
